The aim of this 3-year bachelor program is to educate and train pre-school teachers who are equipped with decent professional literacy and knowledge. They possess sophisticated teaching capabilities, self-awareness as well as people’s knowledge to create engaging and age-appropriate learning environment. They are capable of keeping full focus on the children and show positive attitudes towards them. They are able to cooperate with the children’s families and various stakeholders in society and to apply the best teaching practices in a variety of educational environments. They have the competencies for transferring universal and national values. The courses focus on early childhood education from psychological and pedagogical aspects, language development, the role of play, foundations of literacy, arts, music, mathematics and science, intercultural issues and research in early education
You will learn the methodology of play pedagogy, mother tongue and literature, mathematics, environmental education, singing and music, visual education and physical education, and you will get to know the psychological characteristics of the preschool child.
Pre-school teachers have one of the most intimate relationships with children. You will be the one who creates a loving, home-like atmosphere for young children who still need emotional security first and foremost. As a nursery teacher, you will get to know children’s own little world and help them develop through shared play.
The pre-school teacher works with children aged 3-7 years. Preschoolers learn by imitation, so as a kindergarten teacher you don’t just play with children, you model for them. You develop them through storytelling, singing, story-telling, arts and crafts, puppetry, movement games, drawing and role-playing. During joint activities, visits and excursions, it is important to provide experiences and knowledge. As a pre-school teacher, you will be in contact with parents and institutions (e.g. child protection, school, specialised educational services). If you know a foreign language, this profession is also popular on the job market abroad.

Proof of language proficiency: Language exam certificate (EILC, TOEFL or any other internationally acclaimed certificate) or equivalent official document proving that the applicant has an intermediate level of knowledge of English (issued by a school or university etc.), its official translation

Admission interview
A relevant portfolio is required:
Online interview: The international office will contact all applicants to set up a suitable time for the online interview. Applicants will be interviewed by appointed staff members from the host department and the international office. Professors will check the applicant’s preliminary knowledge of the chosen study area and motivation. The international office will check the language skills and intercultural competences of the applicant.
Minimum admission requirements: 60 points. (Those applicants who gain less than 5 points in any section of the admission procedure will be rejected
