Students in the programme will learn the principles and practice of software design and development. Topics such as database management, design and analysis of algorithms, computer graphics and artificial intelligence are also among the mandatory courses. The special focus of the degree programme is web and mobile development. Several courses are organized in a way to strengthen teamwork and using software development methodologies. Student who successfully complete the programme will be IT professionals who, possessing a solid theoretical grounding, are capable of implementing their skills in different areas. Graduates will be able to perform a variety of tasks relating to software development such as software engineering, software testing, web and mobile development, database design and computer networking.

Career Options: Software engineering is one of the most in-demand professional fields worldwide, including Europe, therefore there is a real need for competent and well-trained specialists. The graduates will be able to work in application and web development, database design and management and design and maintenance of computer networks.

What will you learn?

The three pillars of computer science education are mathematics, information systems and software development. Mathematical foundations contribute to the understanding of IT subjects, for example graph theory plays an important role in modelling computer networks. And knowledge of computer networks is essential for developing web and mobile applications. You will acquire the necessary theoretical knowledge, the basics of building IT systems and modern software development technologies.

Specialisation:

Software Development, obligatory from the 3rd semester

Why is the BSc in Computer Science a good choice?

IT is part of our everyday lives, it is present in almost every aspect of life and many industries would be unthinkable without the support of IT. As a computer scientist, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the operation and development of hardware and software for these complex systems. There is a huge demand for well-qualified IT specialists in the national and international labour market.

What can you do with this qualification?

IT graduates are usually employed as system operators or software developers. System operators are responsible for building and operating the IT infrastructure to ensure that services are available to customers at all times, 24 hours a day, 7 days a year.
