Programme Introduction

Within the growing demand for IT specialists, there is an increasing need for professionals who specialise in business applications. Business IT professionals are able to design and develop efficient and secure and database management solutions that meet functional needs, develop new business solutions. This requires a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, a systems approach, good communication and abstraction skills and creativity. The Business Informatics programme is designed for students who are interested not only in IT but also in business processes.

Structure of studies

The total number of credits needed to complete the programme is 210 credits (145 credits by compulsory courses, 40 credits by differentiated professional elective courses, 10 credits by free elective courses, 15 credits by thesis courses). 1 credit equals one ECTS credit, and 1 credit is defined as 25 student working hours.

Language requirements of the course

  • TOEFL 513 / IELTS 5.5 /oral examination, TOEFL IBT test score of 66 (issued in the last two years).
  • Certificate of any standardised international English language exam corresponding with Hungarian B2 at the Bachelors level and C1 at Master’s level issued by an accredited language centre/ academic institution.
  • In case the student has completed his/her previous level of studies in English, proof can be uploaded about the fact that the language of instruction was English, issued by the institution.
  • If the uploaded document(s) do(es) not meet the above-mentioned requirements, the University relies on an online language interview.

Academic requirements of the course

Completed and signed application form, copy of your passport, notarized copy of secondary/high school graduation results including mathematics, notarized copy of the Transcript of Records, notarized copy of your language certificate, recent photograph, Curriculum Vitae (resumé) in English, Motivational Letter in English, Academic Reference letter in English (Issued by your former academic institution/teacher)

Job opportunities

Upon graduation, our students can be qualified for high-level positions in systems engineering, systems analysis, business intelligence or business application expertise, and for managing development projects in all areas where business tasks are to be solved with IT support. The majority of our graduates are business analysts, but there is also a significant proportion of graduates in IT project management, software development, database management, digitalisation, IT consultancy and business intelligence solutions. The diploma obtained is recognised as equivalent in the European Union.
