Our program focuses strongly on research-based degrees and research findings are published in international journals of high impact.

The close ties with the bio- and chemical engineering departments of the University and with the Research Institute of Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering also add to the multidisciplinary nature of our chemistry teaching.

Program content

This two-year program is designed to give you a solid base in inorganic, organic, physical, and analytical chemistry at an advanced level. Apart from general subjects we offer specialised courses across the entire spectrum of chemistry, including:

(In)organic synthesis
Stereochemistry
Spectroscopy
Homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis
Organometallic chemistry
Separation science
Molecular dynamics
Quantum mechanics
Green chemistry and materials chemistry

Besides, you can acquire basic knowledge on special subjects, such as bioprocessing, molecular biology or bionanotechnology. You also have the opportunity to tailor part of your studies according to your interests.

During the research project you can participate in high-level research. Our program focuses strongly on research-based degrees and research findings are published in international journals of high impact.
