Programme Introduction

The study program aims to train professionals for public and private sectors in the field of urban, regional and environmental economics, planning and policies, who have innovative the oretical and practical skills and knowledge to analyse problems and relations of economic, social and ecological processeson local and regional levels. Our program pays particular attention to the analysis of future tendencies (e.g. increasing importance of cities, appearance of autonomous vehicles, innovative urban management aspects, new business models) as well as to their spatial and evironmental-sustain able consequences. Students have the possibility to take part in the oretical and applied research projects, there by to enlarge and deepen their knowledge as well as to develop their international contacts. Our graduated students can establish their scientific career at Széchenyi István University Doctoral School of Regional- and Business Administration Sciences.

Structure of studies

The courses of the programme are divided into two categories :

compulsory courses (112 credit): on theories (37 credits),on policies and planning (24 credits),on management (16 credits), on methodology (20 credits), on thesis work consultation (15 credits)

freelyelected courses from a selected set of courses of the University (8 credits)

Language requirements of the course

English as a primary language of instruction: automatic acceptance. Otherwise, one of the following indications of English-language proficiency: (a) TOEFL IBT test score of 66, or PBT score 513, (b) Cambridge First Certificate “B”, (c) IELTS score of 5.5(d) any official certificate equal to the above mentioned.

Academic requirements of the course

An authorized copy of a completed BSc degree from any higher education institute, relevant to the field and fulfilling the entrance requirements. BSc in Economicsor International Economics or Geography or Sociology or International Studies or Urban Management or Urban Engeneering or Urban / Regional/ Landscape Planning or Environmental Engeneering or Transport are preferred.
